Verdict: Keto was great for short-term results, but not sustainable for me in the long run.

#2 Atkins:

Atkins is similar to keto, but it gradually increases your carb allowance in phases. During this diet, I lost 14 lbs, and my blood sugar stabilized. But after a couple of months, I began to crave carbs more than ever. The diet was high in saturated fats, and I realized that eating so much cheese and beef wasn’t sustainable for me.

I also learned that too much saturated fat can raise bad cholesterol, a risk factor for heart disease. 

Verdict: Atkins was slightly better than keto but still too fatty and restrictive for long-term enjoyment.

#3 Mediterranean: 

The Mediterranean diet emphasizes plant-based eating with healthy fats, such as olive oil and omega-3 fatty acids from fish. I really enjoyed the meals, and it wasn’t restrictive like keto or Atkins. It even allowed a glass of wine with dinner, which was a bonus!
